I have become terrible at posting on tumblr regularly but if anyone wants to read a character study something or other about luke skywalker and ezra bridger and also the force itself here u go!!
nobody will ever be as sun and moon coded as luke skywalker and ezra bridger. a sky walk is just a kind of bridge, from a certain point of view. ezra and the ghost’s crew were developed from the concept art for luke and his friends of the original trilogy, like how the moon reflects the sun’s light. luke and ezra lose their families and their jedi masters and one wins by working with his found family and the other wins by sacrificing for his found family, with luke’s ending in the original trilogy being light like the the twin suns of tatooine while ezra’s ending at the end of rebels being bittersweet yet beautiful like the twin moons of lothal. both of their sisters are left looking for them, leia searching for luke by the time of the sequels and sabine searching for ezra 5 years after endor. luke’s story like the sun is the center of the narrative but ezra’s story like the moon orbits around him, close but never touching, a similar but parallel path, seen in the same sky, with ezra, like the moon, sometimes only partially visible because he’s missing!! skybridger is THEE sun and moon ship and always will be!!!
It’s a unique type of frustration when you agree that a character is deeply flawed but other people keep missing what’s actually wrong with them and assigning them new flaws that they don’t even have it’s like free my man he did none of that. He did a bunch of other shit tho.
